Opinion/Letter: Webb impresses with his cooperative abilities
October 29, 2020 | The Daily Progress
Recently, we were fortunate to meet Dr. Cameron Webb, candidate for Virginia’s 5th Congressional District.
Dr. Webb is clearly both intelligent and experienced: He has a law degree; worked for the Obama and, briefly, the Trump administrations; practices internal medicine at the University of Virginia; has cared for COVID patients, and serves as the UVa Medical Center Director of Health Policy and Equity.

Opinion/Letter: Webb is committed to supporting tradespeople
October 24, 2020 | The Daily Progress
The Roanoke Times Editorial Board recently wrote that opposing candidate “[Bob] Good does not have a good grasp of how the modern economy really works.” Good failed to answer the simple questions the editorial board posed to both candidates about improving portions of our district’s economy.
In comparison, Webb wrote that in building a new economy for Southside Virginia, the four critical components are rural broadband, education, job training and clean energy, and he specifically called for “extensive investment in vocational job training and apprenticeship programs.” For Webb, these are more than talking points.

Letter: Dr. Cameron Webb is the rational choice to represent the 5th District
October 22, 2020 | Fauquier Times
The recent articles on candidates [Cameron] Webb and [Bob] Good expose stark differences in their political philosophies: one is a centrist who will work with both sides of the aisle to find the best solutions for our problems, while the other can only paint his opponent as an extremist in the attempt to instill fear in the hearts of voters. Who best to represent our district in the U.S. Congress: someone with an inclusive, collaborative attitude, or someone who relies on false aspersions to divide our community?

Letter: Vote Webb for a solution to broadband
October 21, 2020 | Fauquier Times
Fauquier County has lacked widespread and consistent access to broadband for years, a problem also faced by other rural Virginia counties. But once the COVID-19 pandemic struck, our situation became critical.
Schools were closed, and many students were unable to participate in remote learning. Doctors’ offices were closed and patients often were unable to use telemedicine. Businesses large and small were affected because their employees had problems connecting remotely. And many of us in semi-isolation did not have bandwidth for closer communication with friends through Zoom or other platforms.

Letter: Dr. Cameron Webb is the obvious choice for the 5th District
October 9, 2020 | Fauquier Times
It's no secret that our county, and our congressional district (Virginia's 5th), lean to the right. But this year's Fifth District candidates offer such a stark contrast that even conservatives should give the race a second look.
On one hand, there's Dr. Cameron Webb. A physician (who also holds a law degree), Dr. Webb served presidents from both parties -- Obama and Trump -- as a White House health care policy advisor. He now teaches at UVA's School of Medicine. A centrist, Dr. Webb would bring desperately needed real-world competence to Congress as it tries to fix our dysfunctional health-insurance system.

Webb addresses broadband needs in rural Virginia

Letters to the editor for Oct 11, 2020
October 11, 2020 | The News & Advance
It seems at every step we are faced with a new reason to be alienated from our fellow Americans, specifically those of us in Virginia’s 5th District. Like many of our neighbors, we work hard and do so to leave the world a better place for generations to come. Now, more than ever, it’s important to seek elected officials that stand beside us, accept us regardless of our walk of life, and are just as unapologetically authentic and go on to fight behind closed doors in the same way they do publicly.

Letter: 5th District needs a doctor in the house
October 9, 2020 | Fauquier Times
I strongly endorse Dr. Cameron Webb for Congress in the 5th Congressional District. Dr. Webb is a native Virginian, a physician and a lawyer. As a practicing doctor, he is currently caring for COVID-19 patients in a hospital.
Cameron is running for Congress because access to affordable health care is a defining issue both for District 5 residents and the nation. His goals are for the health care system to prioritize patients over profits and ensure that people are safe from financial ruin when they seek needed care. He understands the dynamics of the COVID-19 pandemic, our economic crisis and actions that congress can take for recovery.

Opinion/Letter: Webb's character also impresses
October 3, 2020 | The Daily Progress

Webb Praised for Healthcare Policy
October 7, 2020 | Southside Messenger
In 2017, a frustrated President Trump remarked “nobody knew health care could be so complicated.” Unfortunately, the complicated nature of healthcare is the reason that so many Americans have to decide between their health and putting food on the table, why one man here in Virginia had to pay $60k because of a heart attack. The absurd monetary burden on patients, even those with insurance, is incomprehensible.
I bring this moment up three years later as I listen to Dr. Cameron Webb discuss healthcare policy at a virtual town hall event, because this past hour has brought home, for me, why we must elect this man to be our fifth district representative in the House this November.

Opinion/Letter: Webb puts issues first, not politics
October 7, 2020 The Daily Progress
Dr. Cameron Webb’s policies, in his campaign to be elected to represent Virginia’s 5th Congressional District, are easy to find at his website. I write to share my experience with Cameron Webb, the person.
The humanity of our elected officials matters. When I worked on Capitol Hill, I saw firsthand which members of Congress were most effective in passing bills and meeting their constituents’ individual needs. The best staffs, energetic and engaged, reflected the personal qualities of their leaders. Decency, integrity, good will, and intelligence are contagious.

Opinion/Letter: Webb is right on education, health
October 5, 2020 | The Daily Progress
As a proud teacher for Charlottesville City Schools, I am impressed with Dr. Webb’s plans for our public schools. Dr. Webb says that, once in Congress, he will work to improve the federal government’s biggest program to help students in low-income neighborhoods, the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. He understands that schools must provide opportunity for every child, and he will work for solutions that lift up students no matter their zip code.

LETTER: Webb will work for entire 5th District
September 24, 2020 | The Daily Progress
Apparently, Good won the convention through the clever use of a “drive-thru convention in the parking lot of the church where Good happens to worship.” Convenient. Here’s what Riggleman had to say about it:
“As you know, my opponent’s campaign has engaged in voter intimidation through lawsuits targeting 5th District committee members. This is an unfathomable act that is anathema to what makes Virginia great. Recently, Tucker Carlson’s Daily Caller picked this story up and highlighted the voter intimidation that is happening right here in our district.

Take a Look at Cameron Webb
September 23, 2020 | Southside Messenger
This election season is unlike any other. The coronavirus pandemic has made campaigning in person virtually impossible, so we wanted to write this to encourage everyone to consider voting for Dr. Cameron Webb.
Dr. Webb — who is also a lawyer — is from Spotsylvania County, where he was raised and educated in public schools. He is a young (37), smart, and energetic man who has a career as an internist, teacher, health policy advisor, and leader. His wife, Dr. Leigh-Ann Webb, is from Appomattox and they have two young children.
Dr. Webb is running a positive campaign. He would bring expertise to solving the current health crisis as well as all the other issues we have regarding health care in this country. He is knowledgeable about the needs of rural Virginians for jobs, reliable internet, and quality education.
